McDonalds MAC Grant
Grades 5-8
Up to $500 for hands-on projects for your students. Before applying, you need to verify that your McDonalds participates. This is available on the grant site. This is an easy application and takes only a few minutes to apply.

NEA Foundation
Learning and Leadership Grants - $2,000 to $5,000 for professional development activities
Student Achievement Grants - up to $5,000 for special activities centered around standards-based instruction

Best Buy Teach Awards
$1,000 to $10,000
Rewards schools who use technology in hands-on activities with students

In addition, many school districts have Education Foundations with awards of $500-$1,000. In addition, there are many local and regional community organizations that will award grants and other funding for service-based projects. For example, the local historical society may give you $500 to create a scrapbook on the history of your school. You can use some of the money for a digital camera, which you will then have for your program.

Children's Database Profiles

School Matters
Description: A clearinghouse for new state report cards on education, including data broken down to the district and school building level. Pennsylvania's most up-to-date Standard & Poor's data can be found on this site. Highly recommended for researching information that supports the need for a grant.

Description: The school profiles are part of the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA). The information contained in the School Profiles is meant to assist public school personnel and PA citizens in evaluating a public school

Standard and Poors
Description: Read S&P Observations and learn about each school system's strengths, challenges, and educational return on resources. These reports also include snapshots of important statistics and graphs that highlight comparisons and trends. Monitor progress, view benchmarks, and customize comparisons of student results, spending, learning environment, taxes, debt, demographics, and more.

US Census Data
Description: The source for information on national and state population trends and statistics.

Description: Surveying tool for gathering and compiling data. There is both a free and fee-based version of this service.

DUNS Number Site
Description: As of October, 2003, all federal grant applicants must have a DUNS number required for tracking of grant programs.
